Election Day August 9, 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the conclusion of Nomination Day, held Saturday July 12, 2025, for the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay’s 2025 General Municipal Election, the following nominations were accepted for the three (3) vacancies on Horseshoe Bay’s Municipal Council:

VACANCIES TO BE FILLED – Three (3)

AND THEREFORE, an election will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025 at the Martin Recreation Centre, 23B Horseshoe Bay Drive, Horseshoe Bay, Alberta, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the three (3) vacant Municipal Councillor positions.

To be ELIGIBLE TO VOTE in this election, you must:

· Be at least 18 years old, and

· Be a Canadian Citizen, and

· Reside in Alberta and your permanent place of residence is located within the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay on election day, or

· Be named on the certificate of title as the person who owns property within the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay, or

· Be the Spouse or adult interdependent partner of a person who is on the certificate of title as the person who owns property within the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay.

PLEASE NOTE: It is an offence under section 148 of the Local Authorities Election Act to vote in an election where you are not eligible. Any person who votes, knowing they are ineligible, could be fined up to $10,000 or face imprisonment of not more than six (6) months.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to changes to the Local Authorities Election Act, VOUCHING will NOT be allowed in this year’s Summer Village Election.

VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Electors will be required to fill out Form 13 SV – Elector Register for Summer Villages and present one piece of identification authorized by the Chief Electoral Officer that establishes the person’s name and current address.
